Follow Amundsen's expedition to the South Pole.

Hobart, Australia

We returned to Framheim on 26 January 1912 and left just 4 days later from the "Bay of Whales" for Hobart, Tasmania in Australia, where we docked after a long stormy passage on March 7. As we arrived there, I immediately sent telegrams to my brother, and to King Haakon VII of Norway, to inform them of my success. On the next day, I cabled the first report of our expedition to London's Daily Chronicle. Already in Hobart, I received congratulatory telegrams from, among others, former U.S. President Roosevelt and King George V of the United Kingdom.

Amundsen and his crew is on the way back home back to the starting point in Norway. Do you know what Amundsen expects in his homeland?
